Rhian Hans
I studied Illustration at Bath, England and Cooper Union, New York in the eighties,
then got on to a vocational course in animation in Cardiff, Wales. I soon started working freelance
on the European Animation Feature Film scene which took me to Berlin, Hamburg, Sweden and London.
The commissions I got were for a broad variety of companies, large and small, from Warner Bros.
in London to a small homegrown studio in a potato field in Sweden called Pennfilm ending up a resident in Berlin for 5 years.
I had a 12 year career in the animation industry mainly as an assistant animator on characters and effects
and finally moving in to background painting.
I occasionally got some illustration commissions from time to
time. Creating Sebolds originals with Ingo has allowed me to combine the varied skills and interests I have,
learned and those that come naturally, like designing and making things by hand. Check out some samples of
my work here on Sebold's Sketchbook. Ingo and I share the design work on the "Filzkins" characters, each of
us learning from each other as we go along.
