Ingo Hans
Originally trained as a cabinet maker in Germany I was well versed in the discipline of making things to a high quality having learned the old traditional skills like dove tail jointing etc. Not wanting to end up like many other carpenters, missing a few fingers and a lung full of toxic wood dust, I moved into the animation film industry in Berlin, specialising as a set designer and layout artist.
I worked for companies producing feature films as well as TV shows, such as Hahn Film AG, Marathon Filmproduktions GmbH and Rothkirch Cartoon-Film. As a set designer and layout artist, I created drawings of imaginary backgrounds for the various characters to perform in front of. Using pencil and pen and ink my drawings had to be of a highly rendered finish ready to be passed on to the background painting department.
Have a look in "Portfolio" for some examples, this I consider was my formal training in illustration, until establishing Sebold's originals in 2003.
